Due Tomorrow - 2/27

A Map of the 13 colonies.  Must be on white printer paper (not on college rule paper).  Make it pretty with colors.

Label the colonies with their names and the year they were founded.  Show which colonies were Southern, Middle and Northern.

Homework 2.25.13

1. Start reviewing for the Discovery Period test that will take place this Friday, March 1st (7.5% of your total grade).  Test is on lecture materials.  Review the blog.

2. Due Tuesday, March 5th - Prepare a typed outline of your first research paper.  Your introduction will be your thesis statement.  Then include the several points you will use to support that claim.

3. Due Tuesday, March 5th - Bring in your textbook so we can start using it as we begin the Revolutionary Period.

Homework 2.15.13

1. Your research paper claim ("thesis").  This is the one sentence that you are going to prove and support with your research paper.  You will turn in a paper that says:

2. Your typed bibliography according to Chicago Manual Style.  It is up to you to research the CMS style of writing for your list of sources (http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/).  The requirements for the sources are in the previous blog post.

Homework 2.13.11

Due tomorrow 2.14 is a timeline of the dates lectured on these past two days.

The timeline will be done on college rule paper. The dates will be listed vertically.

Each date is to contain 2 or 3 key points


Note: Get to the library to find your sources for your research paper bibliography (due Friday).  On Friday, I will be checking your notebooks for dividers and organization of materials

Homework 2.11.13

1. Gather sources and create a bibliography for your first research paper.

You need at least 7 sources pertaining to your paper topic.

A minimum of 2 of the 7 need to be primary documents.  You can have more.

Of the remaining sources, the majority of the these sources must have been written within the last 20 years.

The list of sources (bibliography) needs to be typed and formatted according to the Chicago Manual Style (http://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/).

Homework 2.7.13

1. "What is History" paper is due Monday.  It must by typed. See the previous post for other requirements.

2. Due on Monday is the first research paper topic of your choice.  The subject of your paper must be about the United States in the time frame of the Discovery Period (up to 1600s) or Revolutionary Period (1700s).  The research paper topic is to be turned in Monday morning.
